First Past The Post

The First Past The Post only count the first vote.

Alternative Voting

The Alternative vote goes like this :
  1. Count the first vote.
  2. If one candidate have more than 50% of vote, he is the winner.
  3. If there is only one candidate left, he is the winner.
  4. If no winner found, remove the one with the worst score and distribute their second vote.
  5. Go back to number 2 (until a winner is found).

Supplementary vote

The Supplementary vote goes like this :
  1. Count the first vote.
  2. If one candidate have more than 50% of vote, he is the winner.
  3. If no winner, remove all the candidates but the best two.
  4. Distribute the second vote of thoses that voted for an eliminated candidate.

Condorcet Method

The Condorcet method finds the winner by doing a one-on-one with every participant. The winner needs to be prefered to every other opponent. I recommend to visit the Wikipedia link if you haven't heard of the Condorcet method before.
